What to get in touch about
- A rate, band or threshold that looks wrong, or one that has changed and the site has not caught up. Say which page and which figure. These get fixed first.
- A page that is broken, a total that does not add up, or a table that disagrees with the text beside it.
- A question about how a number on the site was worked out. The band-by-band breakdown is there so the arithmetic can be checked.
- Anything about the company behind the site, including data protection questions. What is collected is set out on the privacy page.
What we cannot help with
We cannot tell you what you will pay on your own purchase. The calculator gives estimates for general information, and nothing on this site is tax, legal or financial advice. It knows nothing about your circumstances, and a property tax bill turns on details a calculator cannot see: what else you own, how the purchase is structured, whether a relief is in point, what has been agreed on the contract.
So no review of a transaction, no checking a conveyancer's figure and no ruling on whether a relief applies. For anything specific, a conveyancer or a tax adviser. For the official position, HMRC for England and Northern Ireland, Revenue Scotland for Scotland, and the Welsh Revenue Authority for Wales.
